Yesterday was my grandparents 45th anniversary and my grandma was like “if I had killed him 20 years ago I would be out of jail by now” and that basically sums them up

Jim looked right at her, straight into her eyes for a good minute or two before his eyes went wide and he pulled back. “No! Not allowed!” he shouted, going straight into protective big-brother mode. “You are not allowed to date John fucking Watson of all people!”
Julia bit her lip, smiling as Jim concentrated on her. She loved playing this “game” with him, they would do it as children too. Her eyes widened as he pulled back and started yelling. She stifled a giggle at his reaction.
“Well, I guess I have some good news for you then, since you feel so strongly about it.” Julia chose her next words carefully.
“It’s not John Watson. It’s uh…” Jesus. If he didn’t like the idea of Watson, he was going to go insane with this.
“It’s Gre-” She caught herself before she finished his name. “It’s detectiveinspectorLestrade” She said his name so fast it was barely coherent. Julia went still, waiting for his reaction on that bomb dropped.
Jim got incredibly quiet, sitting cross-legged on the sofa and staring at his sister. “Is he decent to you?” he asked slowly, controlling his anger. Lestrade worked completely against Jim, but the consulting criminal didn’t have anything specifically against him… “Because lord knows that if he isn’t I’ll stab out his eyes with metal toothpicks.”
The night before the burial of her husband 2nd Lt. James Cathey of the United States Marine Corps, killed in Iraq, Katherine Cathey refused to leave the casket, asking to sleep next to his body for the last time. The Marines made a bed for her, tucking in the sheets below the flag. Before she fell asleep, she opened her laptop computer and played songs that reminded her of him, and one of the Marines asked if she wanted them to continue standing watch as she slept. “I think it would be kind of nice if you kept doing it” she said. “I think that’s what he would have wanted”.
-Not sure what is more honorable: Being married to this faithful wife to the end or the Marine standing next to the casket watching over them both.
IN HONOR OF ALL OF OUR ARMED FORCES PLEASE SHARE THIS.forever reblog. forever.
Never forget those who were lost. To all those in uniform, thank you.
This is beautiful…
bless this woman,
bless her husband,
and bless that marine.
Just…wow.
I feel like this would be me if Sebastian ever died.

“Well, technically you’ve already done that.” She said more to the wall than to Jim. “Not Sebastian though. But he was definitely on your hit list.” She added, maybe a clue here and there wouldn’t hurt.
She finally smiled at him, and spun so she was facing him, crossed legged. He wasn’t going to let this one go. “Alright, deduce me.” She teased. Julia pressed her forehead to his as if she could transmit her thoughts and pulled away. “Sometimes he likes girls, I find him attractive” She counted off on her fingers. “And he was one of three people you wanted killed.” She raised an eyebrow at the last one.
Jim looked right at her, straight into her eyes for a good minute or two before his eyes went wide and he pulled back. “No! Not allowed!” he shouted, going straight into protective big-brother mode. “You are not allowed to date John fucking Watson of all people!”
Daddy’s had enough now.
Julia’s smile faltered and her blood ran cold. She hated that look. They were the same cold, calculating eyes he gave to his more unfortunate clients. She felt her shoulders tensing up and looked away. “Don’t do that…”
“Jimmy, please. It’s just a crush. It’s not worth getting angry over.” She slowly slide away from him and positioned herself so she was tucked into the corner most section of the couch, tucking her knees under her chin.
“What difference does it make who it is?”
Jim blinked, his “scary eyes”, as she used to call them, gone in an instant. “I… Sorry, Jules. I didn’t realise I was doing that,” he said softly, backing up and reaching out a hand and taking hers. “Honestly, I’m not angry. Just curious. It matters who it is because if that person isn’t treating you right, I’m sending Sebastian after them.”
Jim simply smirked and sauntered over to the sofa, flopping down and spreading out so he took up the entire length of the sofa. “Technically, I did have a girlfriend for a while,” he teased. “But to be fair, I was shagging a bloke on the side.”
He smiled and nudged his sister with his foot. “Who’s the new love interest?”
“Ugh” she grunted and shifted on the sofa so they could both fit somewhat comfortably. She opened her mouth as if to speak and snapped it shut again. “Nobody.” She bit her lip smiling. “It was only a drink.”
Happy for a chance to change the subject, she asked. “Are you talking about Molly? Did you actually sleep with her?”
Jim rolled over so he was looking at her and narrowed his eyes. “You know you can’t lie to me, Jules,” he warned, getting up and sitting closer to her, their faces inches apart. He had always done this when he wanted to intimidate her, even when they were kids. “Tell.”
He shook his head. “Never. Now speak.”
Jim stayed on the phone with Sebastian for a little over half an hour, speaking quietly so Julia wouldn’t be able to hear him. He scrolled through her texts and contacts, looking for the boy that she had hinted at, but found none. Huh. Maybe it was a girl. Or maybe he didn’t exist.
He ended the call and stepped back out, smiling and giving her the phone back. “Your new boyfriend doesn’t exist. Either it’s a girlfriend or you lied to me,” he teased her, kissing her cheek to show that the phone call had gone well.
“That’s it? What happened? What did he say?” Julia started grilling him for details.
After making her way back into the living room, she slumped on the couch. It was going to be one of those lazy days.
“It’s not a girlfriend. Just because I have flirted with girls, doesn’t mean I like them. It’s just fun to do.” She ignored how illogical this sounded. “You of all people should know that.” She teased.

amomentofsilenceformerlin asked: Hi Jim, I need something fixing for me, could you keep this wonderful blog going forever?
Certainly, darling. ;)

Julia shot up from the sofa. “Oi! You can’t take both phones wit-” but she was cut off when he went into the bedroom. She let out a sigh, trying to remember the latest texts she sent out and who they went to, knowing he would probably look though them, as payback for making him talk to Sebastian.Jim laughed at her and rolled his eyes, kissing her cheek. “They’d be just fine for me, but I’ve already got someone amazing,” he pointed out. He paused, watching her carefully and raising an eyebrow. “Unless you’ve already found someone.” He waited barely another moment before climbing across her and reaching for her phone on the coffee table.
Jim’s eyes widened and he protectively held his phone close to his chest. “You wouldn’t dare,” he challenged. Oh, but he knew Julia would, and she wouldn’t hesitate about it either. So he sighed and held up his hands in surrender, going over to Julia’s bedroom to make the call, closing the door behind him.
With her phone and brother no longer there to entertain her, Julia sat against the hallway door to her room in hopes of being able to pick up any snippets of conversation from his phone call. She was a bit surprised that he was actually going through with it, she thought he would actually have to be drunk to do it.
Though she would never admit it, she felt a twinge of worry this would all back-fire on her and Sebastian would get angry over being confronted with his commitment to Jim, or get angry because his commitment being questioned. It was always like her to plan for the worst possible scenario, so Julia waited by the door to hear word.
